Mist cooling systems in animal husbandry, pig farms

Fog cooling systems in animal husbandry (pig farms, cowsheds, poultry farms)

In the hot season, farmers face the problem of heat stress in animals and birds. Ambient temperature rise above +25 0With threatening many negative consequences:

· the general condition of broilers and livestock is deteriorating;

· feed consumption is reduced;

· weight gain decreases;

· population growth slows down;

· weaker offspring are born;

· the volume of milk production in cows is reduced;

· the egg-laying capacity of the bird is deteriorating;

· the quality of meat decreases;

· the risk of diseases and the percentage of loss increases.

As a result, animal breeders lose a significant part of their profits, and sometimes the whole business. The problems of superheating are perfectly solved by misting systems for livestock visits.

The installation of a fog system on farms solves the following tasks:

1.    Lowering the heat load on poultry and livestock

2.    Increasing the breeding period and growth rate

3.    Increased production of milk, meat and eggs

4.    Reduction of water and electricity consumption for ventilation

5.    Cleaner and drier territory

6.    Dust suppression and reduction of odour propagation

7.    Improving the health of animals, reducing mortality

Advantages of misting systems compared to traditional air conditioning:

· the cost of installing a fog system is 2-8 times less than the cost of installing a traditional air conditioning system;

· reduction of operating costs (approximately 4 times less);

· a constant flow of air through the entire building from the air intake to the fan refreshes the air in the room,

· reduced noise level,

· minimal maintenance,

· full automation of the process of managing the microclimate on the farm.

The general scheme of installation of a fog generation system for livestock buildings and structures looks like the following:

The main elements of high-pressure misting systems for animal husbandry are:

· high pressure pump,

· filters for water,

· high-pressure main and auxiliary pipelines,

· clamping,quick-release, threaded and reduction fittings

· spraying nozzles,

· system control unit,

· fans of various types,

· fasteners, etc. accessories according to the project

The experience of working on livestock farms says that with the right approach to installing a fog system, it is possible to reduce the room temperature by more than 10 degrees. There is no universal solution here, because poultry houses, cowsheds and pigsties have different sizes and design features.

According to research, the use of fog formation together with shade and enhanced air circulation is the best way to create comfortable conditions for keeping animals. Water sprayed at high pressure through nozzles allows you to create comfortable conditions for animals and birds. After spraying, the water, evaporating, removes heat from the air and from the skin of animals, as it happens when sweating. And the joint use of the fan misting system is the most effective, since the water consumption is significantly reduced compared to a conventional spray system.

Note that fog-forming systems improve the conditions for breeding any animals.They are also convenient for installation in cages, aviaries, stables, zoos and animal shelters. Fog systems protect against the harmful effects of weather conditions that occur in summer, as well as drive away flying insects and help to combat dustiness of the air.

The most important thing is that fog formation solves the main problem faced by livestock enterprises - the elimination of heat stress and overheating of animals and birds. This means that it preserves and multiplies the profit of owners and ensures year–round business development.
