PS 500 Differential pressure switch (pressostat) with a pressure measurement range of 30...500 Pa*, manufactured by Aerostar (Germany) is intended for:
The PS-500 Thermokon differential pressure switch is designed for monitoring pressure difference through the air. Used to monitor the condition of air filters or fans, control the flow in ventilation ducts, freeze protection in heat exchangers, regulate fire arresting valves and air dampers
-
To control the pressure drop across filters;< /p>
-
To monitor the condition of fan drive belts, or simply the operation of the motor.
The main function of the PS 500 series relay is discrete alarm management in the event of emergency situations:
Clogged filter;
Breakage of the drive belt;
Stopping the fan drive;
Changing the direction of rotation of the motor due to rephasing;
Changing the air flow in air ducts, etc.
Distinctive features of the PS 500 series relay:
Convenient and simple setup. The relays are supplied completely ready for operation and do not require complex settings. The differential pressure reference point is set using a rotary handle with a printed scale;
Simple and quick commissioning. The delivery set includes: PS 500 series relay, 2 fittings, an impulse tube for connecting to the object and 4 screws for mounting the relay on a plane;
Does not require connecting the supply voltage. For the relay to operate, you only need to connect the alarm control circuit wires and impulse tubes.

Brief description:
The mechanical air differential pressure switch PS is used to control excess pressure, pressure difference in gaseous non-aggressive media, in air supply and exhaust devices.
All relays are tested and calibrated at the factory.
PS mechanical differential pressure switches with single-pole potential-free silver contact switch are suitable for use as air flow control relays, differential pressure switches , a flow control device in electric heating radiators, for monitoring the condition of V-belts and air filters, fans, dampers, etc. Depending on the model, the relays are designed for different pressure control ranges:
30..300 Pa | 30. .500 Pa | 100..1500 Pa | 500..4500 Pa.
Sensor design
The relay housing is made in the form of a square-shaped mounting box and is made of durable plastic with high impact strength. The housing cover is transparent, with latches, and provides adequate protection against the ingress of dust, moisture and other foreign particles into the housing - degree of protection IP54. The housing is also equipped with an M16 cable gland and two nipples for connecting hoses.
Controls and indicators
PS differential pressure switches are equipped with a silicone measuring membrane.
For ease of setting the required response range on The device contains a rotary potentiometer.
Installation and connection conditions
The relays are designed to operate in the temperature range of -20...+60 °C, suitable for installation both outdoors and in technical rooms. The installation must take place in a de-energized state, and the connection must be made to a safe low voltage.
An example of installation and operation of the PS 500 relay for monitoring filter clogging:
STEP1. Installation:
The relay is connected to the object using two fittings and an impulse tube, which are supplied in the kit. The high pressure fitting (+P) is connected before the filter, and the low pressure fitting (-P) is connected after the filter.
STEP2. Setting:
After installing the relay and connecting the signal cables, the relay response setting is adjusted using a rotary handle with a printed scale in the range indicated on the scale.
STEP3. Operation:
-
When the filter is clean (the pressure drop across the filter is less than the set point), the relay is off and the alarm is disabled;
< li> -
After replacement or cleaning filter (the pressure drop is equal to the “set minus differential”) the relay contacts are again switched to the off state.
-
The orientation of the relay in space other than vertical can affect the magnitude of the difference at which the output is triggered relay.
If the filter is clogged, that is, the pressure drop across the filter exceeds the set value, the relay contacts switch and turn on the “Filter clogged” alarm;
For reference: 1 Pa = 0.001 kPa = 100 mbar = 0.0000102 kg/cm2

Indication of filter contamination: the “+” tube is installed before the filter (along the air flow), the tube is installed after the filter.< /p>
Confirmation of fan operation: the tube is installed before the fan (along the air flow), the “+” tube is installed after the fan.
Control of freezing of the heat exchanger: the “+” tube is installed before the heat exchanger (along the air flow). air flow), the tube is installed after the recuperator.

A simple and extremely reliable electrical contact differential pressure sensor for air and non-aggressive gases. Serves to indicate air filter contamination, confirm fan operation and indicate heat exchanger freezing.
The operating principle of the pressure sensor is based on measuring the pressure “before” and “after” the elements of the ventilation system: fan, filter or heat exchanger.
If the pressure drop exceeds the set value, the sensor contact switches and a signal can be issued to the control module of the ventilation system.
The installation kit is included in the product (2m transparent tube and 2 nipples).< /p>
