Equip yourselfSolar motorization for roller shutters means making a choice in favor of a profitable investment. It is useful because the solar shutter motor allows you to save daily without a power source, it is useful because it is a specific environmental gesture, and it is useful because the assembly is carried out without work on connecting electricity. The complete AvosDim stand-alone roller shutter kit includes everything you need to automate manual roller shutters in this sense, regardless of your model.

#1 - This set of solar-powered roller shutters was designed for traditional and renovation blinds. The traditional shutter is recognizable thanks to the wooden trunk that is visible in the house. The repair section, on the other hand, has a chest visible from the outside. Basic kits can be adapted to both types, however, we recommend adding a more specific engine support for the Renovation component — additional information in a special paragraph.

#2 - Is your shutter model one of them? Perfect ! Now let's check the compatibility of the dimensions of the axes and the weight of the blades:

• Your current axis has a diameter of 60 mm and dimensions from 800 to 3500 mm.
• The power of 20 Nm corresponds to the total weight of the blades. To find out, you need a small calculation:

* Estimated weight of the bar: PVC 4 kg/m2, aluminum 4.5 kg/m2, wood 11 kg/m2.

Roller shutters weigh up to 40 kg maximum? Our 20nm solar motor is suitable.

#3 - Last check: the place available for placing the battery. In the trunk, leave 45 mm of free space against the wall on the engine side. To check, simply lift the lid completely and open the trunk to see the remaining space. Always give preference to installing the shutter battery in the trunk, but keep in mind that technically the battery can also be placed behind the vertical guide rail or under the trunk mounted on the front wall, if necessary.

Photovoltaic panel PergolasVIP

The idea that a photovoltaic panel must necessarily be exposed to direct sunlight to collect solar energy is wrong. A few hours of sunlight is enough to charge the battery hidden in the trunk. Once fully charged, it easily provides up to 150 cycles!

PergolasVIP monocrystalline panels are designed to preserve the harmony of the facade.
Bidirectional photovoltaic panels are compatible with AvosDim 005313 home box (sold separately)  Thanks to the bidirectional technology, you receive information feedback through a box that describes in detail the battery charge, the exact condition of the roller shutter, etc. from anywhere.

NB: We recommend that the cable comes out under the sealing cover. If you have Box Renovation roller shutters under an inverted lintel, i.e. the box is visible from the outside, and the shutters between the walls are on the same level with the facade, a full solar PergolasVIP kit is not suitable.

Battery connected to a solar engine

The battery 005417 collects and stores the energy received by the photovoltaic panel included in the kit. His reserve is able to keep 50 days in complete darkness, at the rate of 2 ascents and 2 descents per day.

This battery model with a thin diameter of ø25 mm is inserted into the boxes using the holders included in the kit (screws are not included). Make sure you have enough space to add it to the trunk on the engine side. To check, simply lift the lid completely and open the trunk wall to see the free space. Attention, the installed battery should not rub against the blades, make sure that there is a gap of at least 20 mm. Otherwise, the battery will be placed vertically behind the slide or under the wall box on the facade, if necessary. For example. If the battery can be installed outdoors, it is not afraid of weather conditions, but be careful not to expose it to direct exposure.

Solar engine control

The elegant remote control included in the solar blinds electric drive kit allows you to control the opening and closing of individual blinds or a group of blinds with the same drive — up to 20 per group. It can be supplemented with the AvosDim mobile application, which offers solar engine control from a smartphone, thanks to the installation of the AvosDim 005313 plug-in unit for blinds and blinds at home - sold separately.

Provide backup power

PergolasVIP solar panels have significant autonomy, on average from 45 to 50 days without direct sunlight. However, as a precautionary measure, it is strongly recommended to have at least one charger for the emergency power supply offered as an option.
The indicator indicates when charging is complete. The minimum duration is 6 hours.

How to recognize the "Repair" section? It's simple. Recall that this is a shutter completely taken out, including the mechanism. It's easy to recognize because its trunk is visible from the outside.

The engine support 005006, which is included in the kit by default, must be screwed to the side of the trunk. In the case of Renovation type blinds, this means that the screws intersect on the side. If the curtain is pressed against the facade, the screws will be visible. Then it will be necessary to open the screw from the outside to limit its excess. If the roller shutter is built in between the walls, it will be necessary to purchase screws, making sure that the points are limited in length.

Otherwise, for your convenience, the configurator suggests adding a special Volet Reinovation support, which can be inserted into the cheek of the flap from the engine side without drilling anything. Well thought out and inconspicuous. This motor support is compatible with all Renovation boxes, square, inclined, round or quarter-round. You will only have to choose the height /depth of the trunk section in the configurator
