Installation

Duct coolers should be installed only in a horizontal position for unhindered drainage of condensate. When using water as a coolant, coolers must be installed in a room with a positive temperature. The recommended distance to the bend of the air duct, damper, etc. should be no less than the diagonal size of the cooler. When connecting the cooler drain pan to the sewer system, it is recommended to use a hydraulic seal (siphon) to prevent the spread of odors.


Description

The air cooler housings are made of galvanized steel sheet.

The heat exchanger is made of copper pipes with aluminum fins. It comes standard with a three-row design. The fin pitch is 2.1 mm (instead of 2.5 mm generally accepted for stacked ventilation systems). The reduced pitch allows you to significantly increase heat transfer and optimize weight and size indicators with a slight increase in the aerodynamic resistance of the heat exchanger. To increase heat transfer, the pipes are mechanically expanded and thereby rigidly connected to the fins. Soldering of heat exchanger rolls is carried out with solder containing 2% silver, which ensures high quality of soldered parts.

Both water and non-freezing mixtures can be used as a coolant for water coolers. Maximum operating pressure 16 bar. All coolers are tested for tightness at a pressure of 24 bar.

The drift eliminator block is made of 100 mm wide sections of plastic profile installed at 33 mm intervals across the entire width of the heat exchanger. The plastic profile has a special curved cross-section, which allows it to retain drops of moisture as air passes through the heat exchanger and the droplet eliminator block. Moisture drains and accumulates in a galvanized steel tray with a condensate drainage pipe. The outer surface of the pan is covered with heat-insulating material.

The refrigerant supply in the standard version is on the left in the direction of air movement.

Air temperature is controlled using water coolers by changing the temperature of the coolant entering the heat exchanger. This is usually realized due to the mixing of cold forward and heated return coolant flows in the required proportions in the mixing unit.

Installation

Air coolers are supplied ready for connection. Coolers are installed indoors. The air cooler is installed by attaching it to the counter flanges of air ducts or other units of the ventilation system. The distance recommended during installation to the grille, outlet or other ventilation device must be no less than the diagonal size of the cooler.

The air passing through the heat exchanger must not contain sticky, abrasive, fibrous or aggressive impurities. A filter must be installed in front of the cooler to protect the cooler from contamination and, as a result, reduce its performance.

Water air coolers should be mounted in a horizontal position to ensure the removal of air and condensate. If an air vent is installed when installing water air coolers, it must be mounted at the highest point. It is recommended to select a water cooler configuration with a general movement of refrigerant towards the air flow.

Design feature

The body and frame are made of galvanized steel, which is not subject to corrosion and oxidation, significantly extending the nominal service life. The collectors are welded from steel tubes, the surface of which is treated with synthetic paint. The heat exchanger consists of aluminum plates with a nominal thickness of 0.1 mm, which are stretched over copper tubes. The condensate collection tray is made of stainless steel. Coolers are tested for leaks with air at a pressure of 2 MPa for 5 minutes under water. This model is supplied in a left-hand version, and the general kit also includes a drip eliminator and an insulated bath for condensate removal.

Installation

Coolers can be installed inside heated rooms where the temperature does not drop below zero (the main condition is compliance with the temperature of the transported air).

External installation is allowed if the refrigerant is a non-freezing mixture (ethylene glycol solution). In this case, it is necessary to take into account the temperature limitation for the servo drive of the mixing unit, and the specified diagrams cannot be used to determine the parameters of the cooler.

Coolers can only be operated in a horizontal position, which allows condensate to be removed and the unit to be deaerated. It is necessary to provide control and service access to the cooler.

An air filter must be installed in front of the cooler to protect it from contamination. To achieve maximum cooling capacity, the chiller should be connected counterflow. The cooler can be installed in front of or behind the fan. If the cooler is installed behind the fan, it is recommended to provide a section between them to stabilize the air flow (for example, an air duct 1 - 1.5 m long).
